Job Description:

Join a patient-centered clinical team collecting and processing blood specimens in a high-volume, regulated environment. You’ll deliver excellent donor/patient care, ensure specimen quality, and follow HIPAA/PHI standards at all times.

Job Responsibility:

  • Greet, screen, and prepare donors/patients
  • verify ID and consent
  • ensure confidentiality
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary collections
  • monitor donors/patients and respond to adverse reactions
  • Set up, operate, and disconnect collection equipment
  • dispose of biohazard materials per protocol
  • Label, process, and document specimens accurately (EMR/LIS)
  • maintain chain of custody
  • Inspect and maintain phlebotomy stations, supplies, and PPE
  • escalate equipment issues
  • Uphold infection control, safety, and quality standards
  • complete required logs and audits
  • Provide compassionate, professional service
  • build rapport to support comfort and retention

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • MediClear (or equivalent HIPAA certification) required
  • Superior customer service and communication skills
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule (including some evenings/weekends/holidays as needed)

Nice to have:

  • Phlebotomy certification (e.g., CPT, RPT) and/or prior clinical phlebotomy experience
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR/LIS workflows and specimen handling in a regulated setting
