As a Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, bringing us one step closer to effectively treating patient illnesses and injuries. Every day you will utilize your expertise and our advanced technology to precisely collect, prepare, and process a diverse range of patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for various diagnostic tests.
Job Responsibility:
Assemble equipment according to requirements for specified tests or procedures
Verify or record identity of patient or donor
Draw and collect blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis
Send specimens to reference laboratories for any testing not performed in house
Maintain proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program including accessioning logs, equipment records and checklists
Identify problems which may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and take appropriate action, including supervisor notification
Requirements:
High School Graduate
Basic Life Support - CPR certification within 30 days
Vocational School Graduate from accredited Phlebotomy training program and 1 year related experience (Preferred)
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Preferred)
Nice to have:
Vocational School Grad Graduate from accredited Phlebotomy training program and 1 year related experience
