Job Description

As a Phlebotomist, you will perform blood collection and specimen processing. Every day you will assist with clerical duties as requested. Maintain laboratory collection turnaround time. Perform specimen processing, all while adhering to strict safety and regulatory guidelines. To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a professional, patient-focused demeanor, contributing to safe practices and excellent patient care.

Job Responsibility

Perform blood collection and specimen processing
Assist with clerical duties as requested
Maintain laboratory collection turnaround time
Perform specimen processing
Practice positive patient identification
Practice HumanKindness and courtesy
Compliance with isolation and hand sanitization procedures
Follow blood collection procedures
Perform Blood Bank collections
Maintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations and storage rooms
Maintain laboratory turnaround time
Assist with phlebotomy training
Specimen processing/intake and distribution to testing areas
Use good judgment when problem solving
Take responsibility for the department workflow

Requirements

High School diploma/GED
BLS-CPR within 90 days
Excellent customer service and time management skills

Nice to have

Phlebotomy certificate
3 months phlebotomy in an acute care facility

Acceptable phlebotomy training program
Basic computer knowledge required
