Phlebotomist / Administrative Assistant

• Provide venipuncture and other clinical support services
• Provide an exceptional in-office patient experience
• Steward of the office lobby space
• First point of contact for patients
• Provide support as requested by Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers
• Support multiple offices as a flex team member
• Use C-I-CARE framework in all patient interactions
• Manage patient intake, same day schedule, follow up scheduling
• Knowledge of billing and insurance
• Monitor patient feedback and assist with outreach
• Perform extended scope duties (non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, swabs)
• Maintain specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory, tool sterilization
• Answer patient messages, follow up on lab cases
• Assist providers with clerical duties (biometric screening forms, medical record review, billing inquiries, DOH reporting)
• Perform front of house duties (check in/check out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, prepping tests)
• Contribute to team development (rounding, team huddles, problem solving)
• Perform opening and closing duties, daily office upkeep
• Master technology suite (Slack, G-suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, Electronic Medical Record System)

• At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
• An active phlebotomy certification to practice in CA
• Strong customer service skills, including ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems simultaneously
• Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams a plus)
• A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care
• A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks
