Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and strategic Philanthropy Manager to bring the Whiddon Foundation to life. This is more than a fundraising role — it's an opportunity to build something from the ground up. You'll play a pivotal role in establishing and leading Whiddon's philanthropic capability, driving sustainable income streams that support meaningful outcomes for our residents, clients, and communities. Reporting to the GM Marketing, Communications and Sales, this role will see you working closely with our CEO, Executives, Board and senior leaders, where you'll help transform ideas into impact — connecting generous donors and partners with causes that truly matter.

Job Responsibility

  • Bring the Whiddon Foundation to life, supporting its establishment, governance and ongoing operations
  • Design and deliver a forward-thinking philanthropy strategy, growing income streams across major gifts, trusts, foundations and bequests
  • Shape compelling stories of impact, translating our vision into meaningful opportunities for donors and partners
  • Build and nurture relationships with major donors, Bequest supporters, philanthropic organisations and community stakeholders
  • Develop a strong pipeline of support, cultivating long-term partnerships that enable sustainable growth
  • Lead donor stewardship and engagement, ensuring every contribution is recognised, valued and connected to real outcomes
  • Identify grants and new funding opportunities, aligning support with Whiddon's strategic priorities
  • Track, measure and share impact, delivering clear reporting that demonstrates the difference philanthropy makes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in philanthropy across Major Gifts, Trusts and Foundations and Bequests
  • A track record of growing revenue and managing budgets
  • Strong capability in developing funding proposals and articulating impact
  • Experience in building or scaling programs, portfolios or functions
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Nice to have

  • Established networks within philanthropy, trusts or foundations
  • Experience in aged care or the broader health sector
