Job Description:

The future of mobility is evolving. Volkswagen manufactures vehicles in 14 countries and delivers them to customers in over 150 markets worldwide. E-mobility, smart mobility, and digital transformation are our core focus areas for the future. This role involves analyzing drive concepts, designing and simulating concepts, evaluating concepts at various levels, and developing/testing prototypes with a focus on power electronics and electric drive systems. The final doctoral topic is defined together with the professor.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyzing drive concepts with minimal dependency on battery characteristics (e.g., state of charge, voltage, etc.)
  • designing and simulating various concepts using standard circuit simulation tools
  • evaluating concepts at both drive and vehicle level
  • developing and testing a prototype, if applicable

Requirements:

  • Good to very good university degree qualifying for doctoral studies in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • consistently strong academic performance
  • expertise in power electronics and electric drive systems
  • proficient in Matlab/Simulink, LT-Spice, or equivalent circuit simulation tools
  • highly self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently
