The laboratory of Prof. Oliver Schilling at the University Medical Center Freiburg has an open PhD position for using mass spectrometry-based proteomics, MALDI imaging, and bioinformatics for spatial mapping of perturbed proteolytic networks in acute, chronic, and fibrotic wounds. The position is part of REMOD-HEALING, a doctoral network funded by the Horizon Europe Programme of the European Union. REMOD-HEALING is a research network of leading European and Latin American scientists from academia and industry, who want to tackle the burden of pathological wounds by exploiting therapeutic targets and biomarkers associated with extracellular matrix remodelling in cutaneous wounds.
Requirements:
M.Sc. in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Medicine, Pharmacy, or related fields)
Initial knowledge in mass spectrometry-based proteomics or bioinformatics or MALDI preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Fluency in English
Applicants should not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Germany for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to their recruitment date
