Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a PhD student (m/f) specializing in predictive quality to join our OMTCI “Composite New Technologies” department based in Nantes, France. You will be part of a team developing new technologies for composite materials,including their quality control. Within OMTCI, you will be involved in developing digital twins of composite part manufacturing processes (e.g., draping, autoclave curing, etc.). These twins will then be interconnected to build a comprehensive digital twin of the individual composite part. This development aims to predict the final quality of the part using data acquired during its manufacturing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Identification of the parameters of composite part manufacturing processes (draping, curing, etc.) to be monitored
  • Simulation of composite part manufacturing processes
  • Implementation of tests to confirm the accuracy of the simulation
  • Enrichment of simulated data with real data (hybrid modeling)
  • Communication of results within Airbus and externally (conferences/publications)

Requirements:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent)
  • Composite materials: manufacturing processes/associated inspections (draping, autoclave curing, demolding, ultrasonic non-destructive testing, etc.)
