Job Description

CVS Health has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to be a part of our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy team. This is a work from home position for candidates living within 75 miles of the CVS Specialty site in Mount Prospect, IL. The role involves assisting in accurately reading, interpreting and entering prescriptions into the computer system, including calculation of doses, assignment of directions and accepting proper insurance payment.

Job Responsibility

  • Accurately reading, interpreting and entering prescriptions into the computer system
  • Calculation of doses, assignment of directions and accepting proper insurance payment
  • Contact doctor's offices and insurance companies to ensure accuracy of specialty medication orders
  • Answer patient calls to coordinate and process new patient medication orders reorders
  • Verifying and re-verifying benefits

Requirements

  • 6+ months experience working in a pharmacy
  • Active Valid Pharmacy Technician License and/or Certification as required by the State of IL
  • 6+ months work experience with Windows-Based applications like Window, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications
  • 6+ months computer keyboarding skills and aptitude
  • Must be able to sit or stand for duration of shift (8-10 hours)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Adaptability and Flexibility
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice to have

  • Three months experience handling and resolving customer needs over the phone
  • Healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, prescriptions
  • Medical Billing, Coding and other Medical assisting roles
  • Customer service experience in an office environment
  • 6+ Months professional work experience preferred involving inbound and/or outbound phone customer service
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of computer programs
  • Excellent data entry skills
