Job Description:

Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in delivering operational excellence and exceptional patient services in CVS Health's retail locations. Responsibilities include prescription accuracy, inventory management, offering patient services like immunizations, complying with health regulations, and contributing to a safe and engaging team environment.

Job Responsibility:

Following all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
Operating at various pharmacy workstations for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
Offering immunizations and other services
Solving or escalating patient problems
Managing basic inventory activities as directed by the pharmacy leadership team
Actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to stores in the market
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and pharmacy regulations
Protecting patient privacy and security
Supporting vaccine services where permissible by law through additional licensure and certification.

Requirements:

Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
Ability to use and understand verbal and written communication
Utilize active listening by giving full attention, asking questions appropriately, and avoiding interruptions
Mathematical reasoning, such as solving problems related to tablet dispensing and supply calculations
Problem resolution skills for challenging interactions
Physical demands include mobility, lifting up to 20 lbs, extended periods of standing, repetitive finger movement, precise machine adjustments, visual acuity for inspection and documentation, oral communication for receiving and conveying instructions.

Nice to have:

1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.
