Job Description:

At CVS Health, Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting pharmacy teams by delivering operational and service excellence, improving health care access, lowering costs, and ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly and accurately. Responsibilities include assisting in pharmacy operations, adhering to laws and regulations, and delivering personalized patient experiences. Additional responsibilities include supporting vaccination efforts and fulfilling technical and clinical knowledge requirements.

Job Responsibility:

Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
Offering immunizations and additional services
Completing inventory activities such as medication deliveries and cycle counts
Expanding clinical and technical knowledge
Complying with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Preparing and administering vaccines where permissible
Monitoring and responding to adverse reactions from vaccines
Tracking and documenting patient and vaccine information

Requirements:

Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state

Nice to have:

1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
