Job Responsibility:
Process new patient registrations by accurately entering data into the appropriate system, adhering to established prescription data entry procedures and guidelines
Manage patient prescription requests with strict adherence to privacy guidelines and process refill orders efficiently
Proactively troubleshoot to obtain missing prescription information and accurately interpret medical abbreviations
Resolve all data entry-related exceptions to maintain workflow integrity
Operate automated machinery, sort medications, and transition inventory through various workflow stages with a strong focus on quality control
Precisely count and fill prescriptions, affix labels, and ensure proper packing and shipping
Perform cleaning and maintenance of machinery and uphold an orderly work environment
Resolve third-party rejects by reviewing information, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements
Provide essential assistance to pharmacists, both on-site and remotely
Identify and communicate operational issues to senior-level staff as appropriate, contributing to continuous improvement
Requirements:
Required certification/registration as a Pharmacy Technician by state (as granted by the state Board of Pharmacy) or by a nationally recognized certification agency
High School Diploma or GED
Basic level PC skills (e.g., starting and shutting down a computer, using a mouse, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, and/or accessing information online)
Basic Search Engine skills (e.g., opening a browser, typing URLs, using a search engine, bookmarking sites, navigating with back/forward/stop buttons, and filling out forms online)
