Job Description:

Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting CVS pharmacy teams to deliver operational and service excellence. Duties include assisting with prescription fulfillment, inventory activities, customer service, and supporting general pharmacy operations. Technicians are required to complete training, certification, and licensing based on state regulations. Key responsibilities include contributing to a safe and effective pharmacy environment, ensuring positive patient experiences, and supporting patient health services such as immunizations.

Job Responsibility:

Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, creating personalized moments, and solving or escalating patient problems
Completing basic inventory activities as directed by pharmacy leadership including returns-to-stock, cycle counts, and putting away deliveries
Embracing a growth mindset and actively seeking opportunities for learning to assist patients better
Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs while traveling to other stores as required
Understanding and complying with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies ensuring patient safety, compliance with dispensing, and privacy protocols
Supporting additional patient health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and off-site clinics where legally allowed

Requirements:

Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Attention and focus including the ability to concentrate on tasks over time, pivot quickly, and ensure prescription accuracy
Customer service and team orientation including actively helping people and responding to patient reactions
Communication skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, and appropriate responses
Mathematical reasoning skills to solve problems such as determining total quantities for prescriptions
Problem resolution skills in identifying and addressing challenges
Physical demands including remaining mobile/upright, lifting items, frequent reaching, repetitive finger use, visual acuity for transcribing and inspections, and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs

Nice to have:

1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs
