Join our team at Wellesley Hospital in Wellington and play a vital role in supporting service users and the multidisciplinary team while ensuring compliance with company procedures and best practice standards. This is a full time position for 37.5 hours per week. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference by driving excellence in medication management and contributing to the wellbeing of people with mental health needs.
Job Responsibility:
To work alongside the GP service, Multidisciplinary Team and Identified Pharmacy to ensure medications are ordered, dispensed and received on site in a timely manner
Act on any safety alerts provided by the wider company to ensure residents safety is prioritised
Ensure safe storage of medications in line with nursing teams
Attend the monthly multidisciplinary meetings and partake as appropriate
Contribute to clinical governance, ensuring any change to practice or local policy is directed through this forum
Ensure professional accreditations are maintained in line with General Pharmaceutical Council guidance
Escalate any quality concerns or incidences in line with company policy
Work in a collaborative way with clinical and non-clinical colleagues
Ensure both departments have access to Pharmacy Technician support as required throughout the working week by providing visibility to both teams
Liaising with the pharmacy provider and nursing staff to enable development of the service
Participating in audits enabling improvements and development of the service as appropriate
Requirements:
Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the principles and practice for pharmacy technicians or equivalent experience and qualifications
A minimum of two years of supervised, practical experience in a pharmacy setting
