Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience required
Due to insurance company requirements, incumbent must be 21 years of age or older, due to incremental use of a company car
Valid Arizona driver's license
Licensed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
Heartsaver CPR (HSCPR or HSFACPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Job Responsibility

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, assists in processing and compounding prescriptions and other drug orders
Pulls prescribed medication from shelf, enters medication charges into the computer, restocks pharmacy automation, and handles telephone inquiries
Provides training, guidance, and mentoring to pharmacy technicians
Able to perform proficiencies of pharmacy technicians I and II
Enters or retrieves data accurately from established computer files and pharmaceutical reports
Aids leadership for direction and oversight in developing policies and procedures, which support organizational goals and objectives
Effectively helps to interview and train employees
helps to evaluate employee performance as appropriate
delegates work assignments as needed
Prepares detailed reports that provide a range of data to assist management in evaluating performance and competencies
