As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be a central figure in our pharmacy, providing essential support to pharmacists in dispensing medications, assisting patients, and ensuring smooth daily operations. You will play a vital role in upholding medication safety, patient satisfaction, and efficient workflow.Every day, you will expertly process prescriptions, meticulously enter patient information, accurately count, pour, and label medications, and manage inventory, ensuring adherence to strict regulations and policies. You will also assist patients, answer questions within your scope, manage prescriber communication, and maintain a clean environment, providing compassionate and efficient service.To be successful in this role, you will combine a strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication and customer service skills. You will demonstrate a proactive approach, a commitment to accuracy, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering safe, patient-centered care.
Job Responsibility:
Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations
Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day to day operations of the department
Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels
Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices
Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation
Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation. This may include preparation and handling of hazardous / chemotherapy medication if applicable
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
6 months compounding of IV medication
Current license as a Pharmacy Technician by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy
