Performs a variety of clerical, distributive, technical and data gathering duties in order to provide medications to patients and support the pharmacists and other technicians.
Job Responsibility:
Dispenses and delivers medications accurately and timely
Prepares non-sterile and sterile products accurately, timely, and consistent with USP standards
Accurately enters medication orders in the computer system and/or effectively navigates within the electronic medical record
Utilization of automation and technology to maintain equipment
Addresses customer and team members concerns accurately and timely
Assists in training and shares knowledge with pharmacy team members, residents, and students
Actively supports and participates in departmental initiatives
Complies with legal, regulatory, accreditation standards
Requirements:
Licensure: State of Georgia (registration)
Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Student
Certification (CPhT) issued by PTCB or ExCPT
High School Graduate
Typically requires 1 year of experience in a hospital pharmacy technician position
Good mathematics skills
Attention to details
Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills
Medication Reconciliation, Medication History or Retail experience preferred
