Job Description:

Pharmacy Technician II Care Transitions position at High Point Medical Center, Mid-shift. Full-Time position with schedule details: Mid shift 1000-1830 and sometimes 0700-1530. Position includes helping pharmacists prepare and process medication orders, working with others for efficiency, maintaining medicine stock, offering pharmacy services in patient care areas, participating in quality improvement, and providing age-specific care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Helps pharmacists prepare and process medication orders to make sure patients and departments get the right medications on time and are charged correctly
  • Works well with others and organizes daily tasks for maximum efficiency
  • Helps keep medicine stock in good condition so that quality drugs and supplies are always available
  • Offers pharmacy services in patient care areas
  • Takes part in team efforts to improve quality and supports the Pharmacy Department's commitment to Total Quality principles
  • Keeps knowledge and skills up to date and helps educate others
  • Sets personal goals to support quality improvement and departmental objectives
  • Follows hospital standards to create a positive work environment through good communication, relationships, and teamwork
  • Provides care tailored to different age groups as per Age Specific Care Guidelines

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) required
  • North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration as a pharmacy technician required within 30 days of hire

Nice to have:

  • Successful completion of a formal technician training program preferred
  • One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred
  • Associate degree in a healthcare or business-related field preferred
