Job Description

Pharmacy Technician II Care Transitions position at High Point Medical Center, Mid-shift. Full-time role helping pharmacists prepare and process medication orders, maintain medicine stock, provide pharmacy services in patient care areas, and support quality improvement efforts.

Job Responsibility

  • Helps pharmacists prepare and process medication orders to make sure patients and departments get the right medications on time and are charged correctly
  • Works well with others and organizes daily tasks for maximum efficiency
  • Helps keep medicine stock in good condition so that quality drugs and supplies are always available
  • Offers pharmacy services in patient care areas
  • Takes part in team efforts to improve quality and supports the Pharmacy Department's commitment to Total Quality principles
  • Keeps knowledge and skills up to date and helps educate others
  • Sets personal goals to support quality improvement and departmental objectives
  • Follows hospital standards to create a positive work environment through good communication, relationships, and teamwork
  • Provides care tailored to different age groups as per Age Specific Care Guidelines

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) required
  • North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration as a pharmacy technician required within 30 days of hire

Nice to have

  • Successful completion of a formal technician training program preferred
  • One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred
  • Associate degree in a healthcare or business-related field preferred
