Job Description:

The registered pharmacy technician I works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to provide distributive pharmacy services and support to the pharmacy department. Additionally, provides a high level of assistance in distribution, dispensing, and compounding of non-sterile medications, and related supplies in compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements. This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5K, contingent upon the applicant's qualifications and subject to certain eligibility requirements. Please note, that candidates must possess prior inpatient work experience to qualify for the sign-on bonus.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintains and supports medication distribution systems and distribution channels, including automated dispensing cabinets, code carts, trays and kits
  • Responsible for assisting with orientation and training of new pharmacy technicians and students
  • Prepares, fills, receives, delivers, stocks and restocks medication inventory and supplies for the pharmacy department and drug storage areas
  • Repackages bulk medications
  • Completes other responsibilities as assigned in support of pharmacy operations and within the pharmacy technician scope of practice
  • Assists with customer service and patient needs, including answering telephones, managing work queues and completing medication histories
  • Prepares non-sterile compounded medications, including hazardous medications and cross trains in more advanced functions when deemed appropriate
  • Performs prescription data entry in pharmacy system when applicable
  • Process medication charges/credits when applicable.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
