Works as a member of the Central Pharmacy Team under the direction of a pharmacist and in coordination with the other technicians. Activities include Intravenous admixture preparation both small and large volume parenteral admixtures, Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) solutions using proper aseptic technique and Inventory. Delivers medications as needed. Attends periodic area meetings.

Helps pharmacists prepare and process medication orders to make sure patients and departments get the right medications on time and are charged correctly
Works well with others and organizes daily tasks for maximum efficiency
Helps keep medicine stock in good condition so that quality drugs and supplies are always available
Offers pharmacy services in patient care areas
Takes part in team efforts to improve quality and supports the Pharmacy Department's commitment to Total Quality principles
Keeps knowledge and skills up to date and helps educate others
Sets personal goals to support quality improvement and departmental objectives
Follows hospital standards to create a positive work environment through good communication, relationships, and teamwork
Provides care tailored to different age groups as per Age Specific Care Guidelines
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration required within 30 days of employment
PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) within 180 days of employment or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited Pharmacy School
Nice to have:
Diploma or associate's degree in pharmacy technology preferred
Sterile compounding experience strongly preferred
One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred
PTCB technician certification (CPhT) preferred
