Job Description:

Pharmacy Technician I position in Home Infusion, PRN day shift. Responsible for developing competence in medication dispensing, sterile IV compounding, order entry, customer service, and regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develops competence in dispensing and delivery of medications
  • Develops competence in preparing sterile IV compounding products following USP, state, and federal recommendations
  • Develops competence in entering medication orders in the computer system and/or processing medication requests via the computer system
  • Develops competence in managing phone calls from customers and team members
  • Develops competence in pharmacy procedures and documentation as required
  • Complies with legal, regulatory, accreditation standards

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration required within 30 days of employment
  • PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) within 180 days of employment or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited Pharmacy School

Nice to have:

  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technology course preferred
  • One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred
  • Previous IV experience
  • PTCB technician certification (CPhT) preferred
