Job Description

Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a license pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department
  • Assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications
  • Maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records
  • Function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One (1) year experience preferred
  • Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.)
  • Current license as Pharmacy Technician in State of Nevada
  • Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or the National Healthcareer Association as a pharmacy technician
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department
