Job Responsibility

  • Leads the shift or area by assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of technician work
  • Acts as a resource to team members and provides day-to-day direction including addressing urgent customer and team member needs
  • Identifies quality improvement opportunities and collaborates with site leaders to design and implement quality improvement initiatives
  • Works in a flexible manner to ensure that department resources are appropriately distributed and that a safe environment is maintained at all times
  • Generates appropriate reports to ensure that productivity, financial, legal, regulatory, and accreditation needs are being met on each shift
  • Participates in the development and implementation of training materials and programs
  • Ensures that department documentation is accurate and satisfies all legal, regulatory, and accrediting bodies
  • Actively takes part in sharing information in department huddles and team member meetings
  • Assists with human resource responsibilities which may include interviewing, selection, development, conflict resolution, and engagement

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, or Pharmacy Technician Certified (CPhT) issued by the National Healthcare Association
  • High School Graduate
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in a hospital technician role
  • Good mathematics skills
  • Attention to details
  • Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional customer service, problem resolution and process development skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the work day
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs from floor to chest level
  • lift and carry up to 35 lbs at waist height a reasonable distance
  • push/pull with 30 lbs of force
