As our Pharmacy Technician Infusion Services, you will work under the supervision of a Provider, Pharmacist, or Oncology Certified Nurse. Every day you will prepare sterile medications, including hazardous drugs, for administration in a physician-office clinic. You will also support the procurement of medications, bio-technology products, and related pharmacy items to meet the supported clinics' needs.
Job Responsibility:

Support the procurement of medications, bio-technology products, and related pharmacy items to meet the supported clinics' needs
Performs all necessary pharmaceutical calculations and prepares sterile parenteral medications, including hazardous drugs, for administration upon authorized provider order
Provides information for medications prepared and administered to clinic billing staff as required by CMS and commercial payers
Performs and documents inspections of the medication and supplies inventories to ensure that expired or otherwise unusable drugs are removed and replaced when appropriate
Places pharmaceutical orders for the supported clinics, including reviewing each order for optimized cost savings, participating in implementing the CSH formulary for clinics, coordinating ordering of backorders items and assures allocated amounts are received, consulting with pharmacy leaders for cost-effective alternatives during drug shortages when needed, complying with contracts when placing orders for drug products, coordinating returns of unused medications as allowed by policy
Ensure clinic compliance with all requirements of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act and related Dignity Health policies and procedures by retrieving and maintain transactional data from vendors and drop shipped items that are shipped to clinics
Coordinate clinic response to medication recalls by reviewing and identifing medication purchase history for the supported clinics for each medication recall and assuring all recall actions are reconciled
Requirements:
2 years of IV room compounding experience including hazardous medications, or completion of appropriate training program
Clear and current CA Pharmacy Tech license
HS diploma
Knowledge of the sources and availability of medications, biotechnology products, pharmaceutical supplies and equipment and related items
Knowledge of generic and trade drug names and pharmacy terminology
Ability to perform pharmacy calculations
Working knowledge of pharmacy buyer practices
