Job Responsibility:

  • Answering inbound calls, understanding the reason for the call, and knowing how to assist which includes knowing when to transfer the call to a Pharmacist
  • Providing outstanding customer service which includes professionalism, patience, understanding, and empathy towards our customers
  • Being able to de-escalate the call
  • Learning various queues and working them in an efficient and timely matter
  • Being up to date with Work Instructions that pertain to their duties
  • Interpreting and inputting new prescriptions into the computer
  • Making outbound calls to members and prescriber offices for prescription clarifications, address and shipping verifications, payment issues, and any clarifications needed by the pharmacist
  • Must adhere to pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures, including privacy and security protocols
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations
  • Performing duties associated with filling prescriptions in the pharmacy including the automated drug dispensing system (PPS, FF54, optifill) and manual pick
  • Pack and Ship prescriptions in the pharmacy

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one to three years' experience in customer service or a related role, including experience in research and problem resolution
  • Strong skills in the area of research, analysis, and problem resolution
  • Proficient computer skills and strong data entry skills are required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with plan members
  • Ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing needs in the department
  • Ability to read written prescriptions, required
  • Health insurance background and knowledge of pharmacy terminology, desired
  • H.S or Equivalent

Nice to have:

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • 3 to 5 years prior work experience
  • To become a Hawaii Technician Registered as of January 1, 2026
