Requirements

High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent
6 months compounding of IV medication
Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which the employee works
Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing in the state in which the employee works as required by the state
Knowledge of the standards, techniques and tools relating to pharmaceutical patient care
Knowledge of the regulatory requirements applicable to pharmaceutical patient care
Knowledge of mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, basic algebra and calculations
Ability to mix oral powders and compounded drugs and to prepare intravenous admixture and other parenteral drugs
Ability to understand and use/apply I.V. admixture, automated distribution systems, outpatient services and decentralized pharmacy services
Ability to understand and apply standards, procedures and techniques to the work assignment

Job Responsibility

Provides a quality level of comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical services demonstrating sound judgment based upon knowledge and application of professional, departmental, and organizational principles and standards
Demonstrates an ability to coordinate subordinate activities by providing direction and guidance concerning the operational activities of the department
