Job Description

A transitional pharmacy position responsible for assisting the pharmacist in promoting an organized and functional pharmacy operation. Prepares medications for dispensing and maintains records. Supports federal requirements for receiving, storing, ordering, labeling, dispensing, reverse distribution, take-back programs and loss/theft of controlled and non-controlled substances. Assist in the management of medication storage and distribution through automated dispensing machines. Provide excellence in customer service. Demonstrate the core values of the organization.

  • Learns and demonstrates competency in prescription processing, including obtaining required patient information, data entry, record keeping, insurance verification and label generation
  • Learns and demonstrates compliance of legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. This includes but is not limited to USP requirements, HIPAA, and controlled substance procedures
  • Learns and participates in non-sterile and sterile compounding preparation in accordance with USP guidelines
  • Learns and demonstrates competency in department safety strategies related to error prevention
