Job Description:

Pharmacy Manager role at CVS Health leading a pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, promote best practices, and transform health care for customers. Responsible for direct management of pharmacy team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering comprehensive pharmacy services.

  • Quarterback the pharmacy team

  • Abide by all legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Oversee pharmacy team during bench shifts
  • Strengthen pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences
  • Demonstrate compassionate care
  • Collaborate with patient's total healthcare team
  • Proactively resolve insurance and medication issues
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations
  • Support effective management of pharmacy inventory
  • Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding
  • Ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Partner with Store Manager to maintain talent pipeline
  • Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists
  • Manage performance through direct observation and feedback
  • Deliver annual performance reviews
  • Write or delegate pharmacy schedule
  • Review business reporting for operational insights
  • Establish culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion
  • Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills
  • Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through clinical services
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws

Requirements:

  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Ability to use math to solve pharmacy problems
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods
  • Lift, scan, and bag items
  • Reach overhead and stretch to grasp items
  • Move fingers repetitively for typing and handling items
  • Extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions
  • Control precision
  • quickly adjust machines to exact positions
  • Stoop to considerable degree
  • Close visual acuity for transcribing, computer work, and reading
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs
  • Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word

Nice to have:

  • Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program
  • 3-5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business need
