Registered pharmacist with a current GPhC registration and postgraduate qualification (Certificate)
Demonstrable management experience in a pharmacy and leadership within a clinical setting
Knowledge of medicines legislation, governance frameworks, and clinical standards
Knowledge of GPhC Code of Professional Conducts, Ethics Performance and their implications for practice
Strong clinical knowledge in a healthcare setting, ideally with surgical experience
Must have experience and the desire to develop new high-quality services
Dispensary working experience and skills
Working with IT systems and data analysis
Experience of CQC inspections and/or readiness
Be able to utilise your leadership skills to demonstrate and implement clinical best practice

Job Responsibility

Provide overall leadership and supervision of medicine management within the centre
Oversee the daily operations of a pharmacy and all medicines management in other departments within the centre
Ensure that we meet regulatory requirements and safety standards in conjunction with the Welbeck Superintendent Pharmacist
Manage the Pharmacy Team at the Welbeck Centre
Handle the administrative duties related to the sale, storage and supply of medications
Develop world class patient focused care
Work predominantly Monday-Friday around the core hours of 9-6pm, however will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the centre which has extended opening hours and potential for weekend services
Provide day-to-day leadership and supporting the strategic direction for the pharmacy department
Ensure high-quality service delivery at the Welbeck Centre
Work operationally in the dispensary

Requirements

Bachelor of Pharmacy or MPharm degree
Registered UK Pharmacist with valid license to operate
In-depth knowledge of pharmacy regulations (GPhC)
Previous experience working in a GDP-compliant environment, ensuring medicines are stored, handled, and distributed in accordance with MHRA and EU GDP guidelines
Proven leadership experience, including line management of pharmacists and dispensary teams
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office software packages
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Demonstrate leadership capabilities including the ability to mentor, inspire and motivate team members

Job Responsibility

Own and report pharmacy KPIs daily to Superintendent Pharmacist
Ensure compliance with relevant UK pharmacy regulations set forth by UK Regulatory bodies (GPhC)
Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations including dispensing prescriptions, inventory management, quality control procedures, health & safety and productivity management
Provide training, guidance and support to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Supervision of pharmacists, including providing leadership, guidance, and ongoing performance monitoring to ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and operational standards
Support the recruitment, onboarding and training of new pharmacy staff to ensure a smooth integration
Accountable for pharmacy security, including responding in person to emergency call-outs outside normal hours and key holding responsibilities following probation
Responsible for pharmacy operations inventory control to minimise both discrepancies and loss prevention
Collaborate with Superintendent Pharmacist, Operations Director and Head of Quality/Responsible Person to ensure all regulatory risks within the pharmacy environment are identified, managed and removed
Maintain accurate records of pharmacy transactions, prescriptions and regulatory documentation
