Job Description:

Pharmacy Manager position at CVS Health leading a pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, manage pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and deliver clinical services including immunizations and testing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Oversee pharmacy team during bench shifts
  • Strengthen pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Direct pharmacy team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Utilize safety guardrails at every workstation
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences
  • Demonstrate compassionate care
  • Collaborate with patient's total healthcare team
  • Resolve insurance and medication issues
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations
  • Support effective management of pharmacy inventory
  • Follow inventory best practices
  • Protect cold chain products
  • Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding
  • Ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Partner with Store Manager to maintain talent pipeline
  • Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists
  • Manage performance through observation and feedback
  • Deliver annual performance reviews
  • Write or oversee pharmacy schedule
  • Review business reporting for operational insights
  • Establish culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion
  • Maintain clinical and technical skills
  • Support access to care and improve patient outcomes
  • Provide pharmacist delivered clinical care
  • Comply with all relevant federal and state laws

Requirements:

  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Ability to use math to solve pharmacy problems
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical mobility and ability to remain upright for extended periods
  • Lift, scan, and bag items
  • Reach overhead and stretch to grasp items
  • Move fingers repetitively for typing and picking
  • Extend hands and arms in multiple directions
  • Control precision with machines
  • Stoop to considerable degree
  • Close visual acuity for transcribing and reading
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs
  • Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word
  • Receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Lead by example and set a positive tone

Nice to have:

  • Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program
  • 3-5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
