Job Description:

The Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PMEL) plays a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team, while developing their own leadership skills in preparation for increasing responsibility. This position involves completing a self-paced, collaborative training roadmap with both virtual and hands-on learning experiences to prepare for leading a pharmacy independently.

Job Responsibility:

  • Cultivating a culture of excellence in pharmacy
  • Acting as a role model for all pharmacy team members
  • Developing leadership skills in preparation for increasing responsibility
  • Supporting home store Pharmacy Manager
  • Managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Overseeing pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts
  • Strengthening pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching
  • Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences
  • Proactively offering and delivering immunizations
  • Managing pharmacy inventory
  • Ensuring compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Writing pharmacy schedule if directed
  • Maintaining clinical and technical skills
  • Supporting pharmacist delivered clinical care

Requirements:

  • 6+ months of experience as a Staff or District Support Pharmacist
  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Utilize active listening
  • Provide clear and actionable direction, coaching and feedback
  • Ability to use math to solve pharmacy problems
  • Identifying challenging interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical mobility and ability to lift up to 20 lbs

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
