Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern role at CVS Health incorporating didactic learning, hands-on pharmacy operations training, and patient care experience in retail locations. Includes adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), performing inventory management, and assisting the pharmacy team in delivering quality care.

Job Responsibility:

Following all company SOPs at each workstation
following pharmacy workflow procedures
contributing to positive patient experiences
offering to counsel and providing care under pharmacist supervision
calling prescribers to clarify prescriptions
completing inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries
contributing to a high-performing team
demonstrating flexibility for scheduling
remaining compliant with federal, state, and local laws
assisting in administering immunizations
educating patients about vaccines
monitoring adverse reactions to vaccines.

Requirements:

Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
utilize active listening
ability to use math to solve a problem
identifying challenging interactions and choosing the best course of action
be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
lift, scan, and bag items
reach overhead and move or lift items
repetitive finger motion
stoop or bend spine
control precision
ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
ability to become immunization certified
ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations
proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
