Job Description:

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will transition from your pharmacy education to real-world practice, preparing for a Pharmacist role. You will assist pharmacy teams in fulfilling prescriptions accurately and safely, deliver caring patient experiences, and grow your knowledge through a comprehensive training roadmap. Responsibilities include supporting pharmacy procedures and compliance, offering immunizations, inventory management, and responding to patient needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist pharmacists and technicians in managing and improving patient health
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Provide caring service to exceed patient expectations
  • Counsel patients and solicit medical history under the supervision of a pharmacist
  • Take telephonic prescriptions
  • Maintain and manage pharmacy inventory
  • Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members
  • Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing as allowable by law
  • Respond to adverse reactions and report as needed
  • Comply with laws and CVS policies to ensure patient safety.

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
  • Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • Utilize active listening
  • Ability to use math to solve a problem
  • Identifying patient or colleague interactions and resolving issues
  • Physically mobile and capable of lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally and lesser amounts frequently.

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
