Job Description:

As a graduate pharmacist intern, you work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. Key tasks include patient safety, professional practice, quality assurance, customer service, inventory, and workflow management while delivering compassionate and professional care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead with heart by displaying empathy and compassion for patients, customers, caregivers, and colleagues
  • support the Pharmacy manager in motivating and developing the Pharmacy Support Staff
  • identify critical business opportunities and implement meaningful solutions
  • adapt to change and plan effectively in a dynamic community healthcare setting
  • align others around the purpose of health care
  • facilitate a team culture promoting energy and pride
  • apply acquired knowledge for healthy outcomes
  • ensure patient safety, pharmacy professional practice, and quality assurance
  • manage inventory and workflow excluding final prescription verification.

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • 0-3 years prior relevant work experience
  • must possess or be in process of obtaining a valid Pharmacist intern and/or technician licensure as required by state BOP
  • strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • complete all required training within state guidelines and required timeframe
  • ability to have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
  • lift, scan, and bag items
  • finger dexterity
  • reach overhead and stretch or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs to grasp items
  • precision control
  • stoop to a considerable degree
  • visual acuity
  • orally communicate information and instructions
  • occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs
  • obtain required pharmacist licensure within required timeframe per state guidelines
  • complete any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager
  • complete all required training and obtain required licensure within state guidelines.

Nice to have:

  • Immunization eligibility
  • 3-5 years prior relevant work experience
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
