Job Description:

The Graduate Pharmacy Intern applies didactic learning and pharmacy practice into real-world scenarios under preceptor and District Leader supervision. Responsibilities include ensuring pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled accurately and promptly, and patients receive excellent care. The intern follows Standard Operating Procedures, engages in hands-on training, completes inventory activities, provides support for immunizations, and complies with all laws and regulations.

  • delivering additional patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
  • actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
  • notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
  • use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • utilize active listening by giving full attention to what others are saying
  • ability to use math to solve a problem
  • identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action when faced multiple options
  • physical demands such as mobility and remaining upright for extended periods of time
  • ability to lift, scan, and bag items and reach overhead
  • ability to stoop and bend
  • ability to perform visual inspections involving small parts
  • express or exchange ideas by spoken word
  • ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
  • any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • ability to become immunization certified
  • proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
