3rd year Pharmacy Intern role focused on transforming health care for customers and supporting pharmacy teams to deliver on brand promise. Position involves developing skills in preparation for increasing responsibility and becoming ready for a Pharmacist role through comprehensive training and hands-on experience.
Job Responsibility:
Applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Complete comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences
Assist pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly
Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations
Contribute to positive patient experiences
Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members
Complete basic inventory activities
Contribute to team dynamic and embrace growth mindset
Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Deliver additional patient health care services where allowable
Requirements:
Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Utilize active listening
Ability to use math to solve problems
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
