Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care. Role involves applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice under preceptor direction. Interns will gain hands-on experience through comprehensive training including Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders.

Job Responsibility:

Complete comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences
Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care with customers and colleagues
Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law
Contribute to positive patient experiences at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
Offer immunizations and other services
Field medical questions and solicit patient medical history under pharmacist supervision
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members
Deliver additional patient health care services where allowable by law

Requirements:

Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Utilize active listening
Ability to use math to solve problems
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
Physical demands including mobility, lifting up to 20 lbs, reaching, stooping, visual acuity

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
