Job Description:

At CVS Health, 3rd year Pharmacy Interns support pharmacy teams, apply pharmacy school learnings into practice, and prepare for a Pharmacist role through hands-on training and mentorship. They focus on prescription fulfillment, patient interaction, inventory management, and contributing to team performance.

Job Responsibility:

Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation
Following pharmacy workflow procedures
Creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
Taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarifying prescriptions
Providing in-the-moment coaching and training to pharmacy team members
Completing basic inventory activities
Remaining flexible for scheduling needs and voluntarily traveling to stores
Understanding and complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles
Delivering additional patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing.

Requirements:

Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Ability to use math to solve a problem
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs and frequently lift up to 10 lbs.

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
