Job Description:

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, the candidate will apply pharmacy education into real-world practice, complete comprehensive training within 120 days of graduation, and support pharmacy teams in delivering quality care to patients while preparing for a Pharmacist role. Responsibilities include assisting in prescription fulfillment, patient care, inventory management, team mentoring, complying with regulations, and staying flexible for scheduling and business needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Helping Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures for prescription fulfillment
  • Providing caring service to patients
  • Fielding medical questions and soliciting patient medical history under supervision
  • Training and mentoring pharmacy team members
  • Completing inventory activities such as returns-to-stock and deliveries
  • Demonstrating empathy and compassion in patient interactions
  • Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs
  • Complying with federal, state, and local laws
  • Contributing to a safe and inclusive team environment
  • Staffing offsite clinics and administering immunizations.

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
  • Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • Utilize active listening by giving full attention to what others are saying
  • Ability to use math to solve a problem
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action when faced with multiple options
  • Remaining mobile and upright for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs
  • Frequently lifting up to 10 lbs.

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
