Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The role involves supporting pharmacy teams to deliver on brand promise while developing skills for increasing responsibility. Interns will gain hands-on experience through a training program that includes Key Learning Experiences, activities, and leadership exposure.

Job Responsibility:

  • Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Complete comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences
  • Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
  • Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
  • Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
  • Demonstrate empathy and genuine care with patients
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
  • Offer immunizations and other services
  • Field medical questions and solicit patient medical history under pharmacist supervision
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members

Requirements:

  • Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Ability to use math to solve pharmacy problems
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods, lift items, reach overhead, and perform detailed work

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
