Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern role at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The position involves applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, the intern will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to show first-hand what it's like to be part of a pharmacy team while gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Completing comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences (KLEs)
  • Assisting pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly
  • Ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Operating as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
  • Demonstrating empathy and genuine care with patients
  • Contributing to safe and inclusive culture
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation
  • Offering to counsel and fielding medical questions under supervision
  • Taking telephonic prescriptions from prescriber
  • Maintaining self-awareness and providing coaching to team members
  • Completing basic inventory activities
  • Contributing to high-performing team
  • Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs
  • Understanding and complying with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Delivering additional patient health care services (immunizations, point-of-care testing)

Requirements:

  • Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems
  • Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
