Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The role involves supporting pharmacy teams to deliver on brand promise while developing skills in preparation for increasing responsibility. Interns will gain hands-on experience through training that includes Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Completing comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences
  • Assisting pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations
  • Operating as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
  • Demonstrating empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences
  • Offering to counsel and fielding medical questions under pharmacist supervision
  • Taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members
  • Completing basic inventory activities
  • Contributing to safe and inclusive team culture
  • Understanding and complying with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Delivering additional patient health care services where allowable

Requirements:

  • Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Utilize active listening
  • Ability to use math to solve problems
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical demands including mobility, lifting up to 20 lbs, reaching, stooping, and visual acuity

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
