Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The role involves applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, the intern will complete comprehensive training designed to show first-hand experience of being part of a pharmacy team while gaining overview of store, district, and regional operations.

Job Responsibility:

Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Complete comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences
Assist pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly
Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
Contribute to safe and inclusive culture
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations
Create heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
Offer immunizations and other services
Demonstrate compassionate care by solving patient problems
Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching to team members
Complete basic inventory activities
Contribute to high-performing team with growth mindset
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
Travel to stores in market as needed
Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Deliver additional patient health care services where allowable

Requirements:

Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people
Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication
Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
