Job Description:

As a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern, you will be focused on applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to prepare for a pharmacist role. Responsibilities include assisting pharmacy teams in day-to-day operations, developing skills through comprehensive training, and contributing to patient health by providing caring service. The position also requires flexibility in scheduling and adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibility:

  • Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences showing empathy and genuine care
  • Offering to counsel, fielding medical questions, and soliciting information on a patient’s medical history to provide optimal care
  • Maintaining the highest level of self-awareness and providing in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members
  • Completing basic inventory activities, as permitted by law
  • Remaining flexible for both scheduling and business needs
  • Understanding and complying with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
  • Delivering additional patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing

Requirements:

  • Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
  • Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to use math to solve a problem, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense
  • Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally lift of up to 20 lbs and/or exert up to 20 lbs. of force

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
