Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The role involves supporting pharmacy teams to deliver on brand promise while developing skills in preparation for increasing responsibility. Interns will gain hands-on experience through training that includes Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Complete comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences
  • Assist pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly
  • Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
  • Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
  • Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences
  • Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
  • Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching to team members
  • Complete basic inventory activities
  • Contribute to high-performing team and embrace growth mindset
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
  • Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Deliver additional patient health care services where allowable

Requirements:

  • Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Ability to use math to solve problems
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods, lift items, reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, stoop, and perform visual activities
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
