Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern role focused on transforming health care for customers. Position supports pharmacy teams to deliver on brand promise while developing skills for pharmacist role. Includes hands-on experience through training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders.

Job Responsibility:

Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Complete comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences
Assist pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly
Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations
Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
Complete basic inventory activities
Support immunizations where permissible
Educate patients about importance of vaccines

Requirements:

Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication
Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve pharmacy-related problems
Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging interactions and choosing the best course of action
Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods
Lift, scan, and bag items
Reach overhead
Move fingers repetitively
Close visual acuity
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
