3rd year Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The role involves applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, the intern will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to show first-hand what it's like to be part of a pharmacy team while gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations.
Job Responsibility:

Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations
Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
Contribute to safe and inclusive culture
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation
Create heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
Offer immunizations and other services
Field medical questions and solicit patient medical history
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescriber
Provide in-the-moment coaching and training to pharmacy team
Complete basic inventory activities
Contribute to high-performing team
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Deliver additional patient health care services where allowable
Requirements:
Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Ability to use math to solve problems
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
Physical ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods, lift items, reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, extend arms, stoop, and have close visual acuity
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
Nice to have:
1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
