3rd year Pharmacy Intern role focused on transforming health care for customers and supporting pharmacy teams to deliver on brand promise. Position involves developing skills through real-world practice to become ready for Pharmacist role under direction of preceptor.
Job Responsibility:
Applying didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Complete comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences (KLEs)
Assist pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly
Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Operate as part of pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer and colleague interactions
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
Contribute to positive patient experiences showing empathy and genuine care
Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit information on patient's medical history
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescriber
Call prescriber to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes
Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members
Complete basic inventory activities
Contribute to a high-performing team
Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs
Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws
Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point-of-care testing)
Requirements:
Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve a problem
Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time

Nice to have:
1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
