Job Description:

3rd year Pharmacy Intern role at CVS Health focused on transforming health care. The position involves applying pharmacy school learning to real-world practice under preceptor direction, with comprehensive training designed to prepare for Pharmacist role. Interns work as part of pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations and provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations.

Job Responsibility:

Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Complete comprehensive training roadmap with Key Learning Experiences (KLEs)
Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
Operate at pharmacy workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care to patients
Offer immunizations and other services
Counsel patients and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members
Complete basic inventory activities
Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point-of-care testing)

Requirements:

Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve a problem
Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
Lift, scan, and bag items
Reach overhead
Move fingers repetitively
Extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions

Stoop to a considerable degree
Close visual acuity
Occasionally lift of up to 20 lbs

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
